It runs smooth from my experience, and despite it's mobile roots, looks really sharp on Switch (haven't played docked yet, though). You Level Up by completing objectives in either the single player and/or multiplayer modes to unlock new planes & skins. Online (which I haven't yet tried) has Last Man Standing, Team Death Match, Capture the Flag, and Defend the Base (I believe they can also be played single player with bots). Single player consists of an 18 mission Story Mode (split up into 3 campaigns featuring a different theater of the war), a 13 mission Dogfight Mode, a Survival Mode, and a Free Flight Mode. My comments are more “details” to be tweeked to make it better.I really needed something to fill that Ace Combat sized hole in my Switch's heart, so I decided to take a gamble on this (pun most definitely intended), and am glad I did. The game really is good and the graffics of course are impresive to say the least. Having the ability to customize more of the aircraft’s ability would be great as well! It’s best roll was close air support, so this plane should replace the Corsair in the “Tank Buster” Mission (the Corsair was never a part of the European Theater of operations anyway). Although it was good, it still wasn’t as good as a P-51. The P-47 is really too much like the P-51 which is not historically accurate at all. (Some other aircraft would be the P-61 Black Widow, the Hawker Typhoon, the Bristol Beaufighter, the Kawasaki Ki-61, or the Nakajima B6N)Īs far as gameplay goes I would have to aggree with the post by Scout19D19D. Navy’s effort in the Pacific Theater and I am surprised that they have not been added yet. Both of these aircraft were essential to the U.S. Two aircraft that are surprisingly missing from the game are the American Douglas SBD Dauntless dive bomber and American Grumman TBF/TBM Avenger torpedo bomber. This game is a blast to play and is easily the best World War II era fighter plane game on the market! The price is reasonable as well.Īs far as further game development goes I would like to see some more campaigns and missions as well as some more aircraft.
